Indeed’s Rising Voices gives 10 talented filmmakers a $100,000 budget to bring their scripts to life— regardless of their background, connections, or education, but rather their talent alone. Over the past 5 years, the program has given nearly 50 filmmakers their big break - along with over 2,500 individuals across art, hair & makeup, set design, costuming, and technical disciplines work as well. The program embodies Indeed’s mission, which is “to help people get jobs.”

For Black History Month, we wanted to celebrate what makes this program groundbreaking: changing Hollywood by uncovering new stories and points of view from the voices traditionally held back. And, we tapped our EP, Lena Waithe, to tell the world.
